Hi - I’m Heather Hodge Cordivari.
My practice provides individual and couples therapy built on a deeply trauma-informed, holistic foundation. By meeting you with compassion, we explore the barriers and emotional wounds that keep you stuck, guiding you toward lasting change and a sense of internal wholeness.

What It's Like to Work With Me
I work from a big toolbox of therapeutic approaches-somatic work, brainspotting, IFS, Gestalt, expressive arts, attachment theory - and I draw on what your system needs most in any given session. Sometimes we'll use just one approach. Other times we'll blend several. It's all about meeting you where you are.

Step 01
Building Safety & Nervous System Regulation
Before anything else, your body needs to know it can relax here.
Our first few sessions focus on helping your nervous system settle. We're learning to attune to each other. We're creating a strong container to hold what you're bringing in as we work towards unburdening. We're creating a space where you can finally exhale.
You might notice: Your shoulders dropping. Breathing more deeply. Less urgency to fix everything right away.
Step 02
Understanding Your Patterns (The 'Why')
Now we map the territory-why you respond the way you do.
We explore the patterns running your life. Why you shut down in conflict. Why vulnerability feels dangerous. Why you give to others but struggle to ask for what you need. We understand these as intelligent adaptations, not flaws.
You might notice: Things clicking into place. 'Oh, that's why I do that.' Curiosity replacing shame.
Step 03
Working Through
What Lives in Your Body
Insight alone doesn't create change-we work with what's stored somatically.
We bring in body-based approaches to process what talk therapy alone can't reach. The tightness in your chest. The emotions that got stuck. We help your nervous system complete what it couldn't process at the time.
You might notice: Emotions moving through instead of getting stuck. Physical tension releasing. Old wounds healing at a somatic level.
Step 04
Practicing New
Ways of Being
Understanding isn't enough-we practice choosing differently in real time.
You start experimenting with different responses in your actual life. Setting boundaries. Speaking your truth. Catching yourself before falling into old patterns. This phase is messy, and that's the point-we're building your capacity to choose growth over familiarity.
You might notice: More agency in your relationships. Small moments of choosing yourself. Relationships shifting because you're showing up differently.
Step 05
Integration & Becoming Your Own Guide
The work becomes something you carry within you.
Therapy starts to feel less urgent. You've built a sturdy relationship with yourself and know how to navigate the hard stuff. We space out sessions as you test your wings and discover you can handle challenges on your own.
You might notice: Quiet confidence. Trusting your own process. Coming home to you, empowered to live your life to the fullest, on your own terms and free from whatever had been holding you back for so long.
This isn't linear-and that's completely normal.
Some weeks we'll make huge strides. Other weeks we'll circle back to integrate new insights more deeply. Both are part of the process.
My role is to walk alongside you, hold the bigger picture when you can't see it, and meet you exactly where you are with whatever approach your system needs most.
